It takes a lot to impress me with a new foundation and for the countless ones I swatch and try on in store, very few make it to the pay till and into my daily routine. So girls listen up, this one is good.
The product: As a big time Benefit fan, myself and many of you out there were delighted to learn they were going to invest in a super duper base to match their range of pretty, delectable products already on the shelves. This looks suitably cute in it’s well made, sturdy plastic container with a nice pump applicator that dispenses the right amount of product at a time. In a devilishly clever mood, the lovely lot at Benefit have even thrown in a sachet of their POREfessional primer to give your skin a silky smooth base to apply the foundation on. So the question is, is the foundation able to compete with the big boys?
Application: This foundation is silky smooth and light and blends really easily on the skin. I applied it with just my fingers and it went on perfectly and lasted well. There are 9 shades available, all with an SPF 25. I was matched with the lightest shade, Believe in Me Ivory, which is darker than the base I normally wear but blended very well and didn’t leave me looking orange, just slightly yellower in tone than usual. It’s also moisturising enough to not accentuate my dry bits but has a silky matte finish so it won’t leave you looking shiny. I was seriously impressed with this, my only gripe is that there isn’t an even paler shade to perfectly match me, but maybe in time if us pale girls ask them nicely! You can see below the shade difference when matched to my absolute new favourite foundation, Lancome Teint Miracle, which I’ve already reviewed.
Result: If you haven’t already, go to the Benefit counter makeup free and let the girls try this out on you. It’s a beautiful silky foundation that will suit all those who like light to medium coverage. Ok, it’s over €30, it isn’t cheap, but a decent base completes a look and is well worth spending a few extra euro on. I love this, let’s just hope in time they may release a few more shades to expand the line!
Score: 8/10
Would I buy again: If I fell into the shade range a bit better, I would definitely!
Great review, it looked nice on your skin on sat. I’m looking forward to putting it to the test on my oily/combo skin:)
thanks:) Looking forward to seeing what you think of it!
would this be good for dry skin? because I get flaky with some foundations!

I have dry patches too and found this went on well and didn’t accentuate my dryness! A good moisturiser and primer underneath really helps!
To be honest it still looks like it’d be a little dark for me! I wish companies would have a wider shade range 😦 Most of my foundations seem to be near enough to the colour of that Armani one. Flippin’ Irish skin!!!!!! xx
I know, that’s why I love the Lancome Teint Miracle so much it’s the perfect shade!
I’m going to a counter on saturday to try this out, I’m pale like you though so hope it isn’t too dark! x
Ooh let me know what you think!
It looks really exciting, but so many of the benefit face products have a seriously bad effect on my skin, so at that price I’m definitely not gonna risk it 😦
Foundation is ok, but I can’t apply it the same way the makeup artist applies it on me. I think I would like more coverage on me xx

Ah know what you mean I like very light coverage so found it good!
