Oily Gals Rejoice…

Moisturisers can be a minefield at the best of times but throw a naturally shiny complexion into the mix and things get interesting. Your skin still needs hydration underneath your regular makeup, but you don’t want to end up with a shiny makeup-free face blinding the eyeballs out of everyone after a few hours. So what do you do? Well ladies, you turn to Vichy and offer up your thanks for their new Normaderm Total Mat.

Now this moisturiser is for those who have an SPF already in their makeup routine or for nights out as I’d always encourage you lovely ladies to be careful with your skin. I’ll be covering a whole host of lovely SPF options in an upcoming post (including Vichy), but for a regular moisturiser, this baby is hard to beat. So here’s the lowdown:

The product: Nicely packaged, you get 30ml of this anti-shine, anti-humidity, hydrating gel that won’t block pores. It contains Perlite which is the most powerful anti-humidity ingredient that has an abosorbing power 5 times bigger than talc. It also contains Polytrap which fights and absorbs sebum for a long lasting matte effect.

Application: This creamy gel goes on smoothly and feels cooling and hydrating. Give it 60 seconds and you’ll be left with a beautifully moisturised matte base to help fight shine while keeping your skin hydrated throughout the day or night.

Result: This is brilliant. It creates the perfect base for makeup but crucially will help fight shine for up to 12 hours. Girls get your purses out and buy this baby!

Score: 9/10

Pros: Really works, is good for skin and won’t block pores, perfect for all skin types but especially for oily girls.

Cons: At €16 for 30ml, it’s not the cheapest moisturiser but ladies you get what you pay for sometimes!

Would I buy again? Definitely!

Vichy’s new Normaderm Total Mat (€16) is available now from pharmacies nationwide.

I use this daily it’s great, but I often wonder how well it’s contributing to my whole anti aging thing I got going on now

I’m doing a bit ol’ SPF post very, very soon to keep an eye out, sun accounts for 90% of premature wrinkles!

I was eyeing this moisturiser up the other day. Haven’t been brave enough to try Vichy but I’ll definitely give it a go after seeing this review :)
