Review: Perricone MD Hypoallergenic Collection

I counted myself very lucky when I received a set of Perricone MD’s new moisturiser and eye cream from their beautiful and beneficial hypoallergenic range to review for you all. This carefully crafted collection is designed by world renowned founder of Perricone MD, dermatologist and healthy ageing expert, Dr. Nicholas Perricone, who used naturally occurring molecules found in the leaf and fruit of olives, combined with the advanced science of the brand, to deliver the perfect anti-ageing solution for sensitive skin.

The Hypoallergenic Collection is made up of a gentle cleanser, peptide complex and the nourishing moisturiser and firming eye cream I was sent to try. Now these are top market products, meaning the science and research put into the collection is naturally reflected in the price and therefore is more of an investment than a spur of the moment purchase. Personally, I was delighted to be able to try products so renowned that would normally be beyond my price range to see how they fared.

Beautifully presented, the moisturiser and eye cream are cool and calming on the skin and don’t irritate the delicate eye area in the slightest. They are easily absorbed and provide a big dose of hydration to maintain your skin’s elasticity. This range is designed for a younger generation than most anti-ageing ranges and is aimed to prevent against future wrinkles so, at 28, I think I’m the perfect candidate. I certainly found the products to be decadent and beautiful to use and I really felt like I was using products that had a huge amount of care and time invested in them rather than buzz words and chemicals. My skin can be temperamental, especially during the colder months, but this was a pleasure to use and didn’t cause the slightest hint of irritation.

The range starts at €42, and while this is above the price of many products, sometimes you really do get what you pay for. This is a beautiful set perfect for ladies who want to invest in some serious science to protect and nourish their sensitive skin. Obviously, the long term benefits of the anti-ageing element of the products can’t be fully appreciated in so short a time, but as this is one collection I will be using frequently I will definitely revisit and review the range again in the future.
